Anne-Marie MELSTER is a curator, art advisor and academic. She is the co-founder and co-director of ARTPORT_making waves (www.artport-project.org), an international curatorial practice in New York, Valencia and Paris, dedicated to art and environmental issues. In this context she curates and organizes exhibitions, video projects, performances, workshops, panels and educational collaborations in various countries worldwide with partners like the United Nations, the Swiss, Spanish, and Mexican Governments, the Film Society of Lincoln Center New York, Cinema Planeta Mexico, and many more. She consults for international galleries, collectors and artists and contributes to the art magazines exibart (Italy), Miami Art Guide, Weltkunst (Germany), artspace.
She is a guest lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts (Polytechnic University of Valencia), the University of Hamburg and the Universidad Veritas in San José, Costa Rica and is collaborating with the Ringling College of Art + Design, Sarasota (Florida). With her former company, Art & Culture Projects, she has managed contemporary art galleries, developed artist residencies in Hamburg and Düsseldorf (Germany), organized the cultural program of the renowned Collection Falckenberg in Hamburg, and published catalogues and artist books.
She consulted for young collectors of contemporary art, establishing their collections and developing communication strategies. Anne-Marie Melster was the personal and artistic assistant of Reinhold Würth, one of Europe’s most important collectors and art patrons. She holds an MA in Art History, Spanish Philology and Political Sciences from the University of Hamburg. Anne-Marie Melster is an expert in exclusive art travel management since many years and speaks fluently German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Catalan. With more than 15 years of experience in the arts business she comes with a distinct international network and a special knowledge of Latin America, Africa, India and Europe. She is currently based in Paris.
